This piece was commissioned by Gabriel Alegría and the New Music Youth Orchestra of Lima and it was premiered on March 15, 1999 at the Peruvian-American Cultural Institute by Jean-Pierre Magnet, tenor saxophone and the New Music Youth Orchestra conducted by Gabriel Alegría.
